Waggonway Road

The inhabitants of Alnwick and its vicinity were gratified by the completion of an undertaking of hitherto unattempted in that quarter, viz. the delivering of coals at Alnwick, from Shilbottle colliery, by wagons conveyed along a metal rail road.
