Herons nest in colonies, heronries, building in large trees or bushes, in reed beds or on cliff edges. The nest is a large structure of sticks and twigs.

Hello. Thank you so much for sharing the old pictures of Alnwick - lovely. My husband's family came from Alnwick in the early 1800s, and when I research any tree I love to find old pictures of where the family were living.
