Moorhens live in ponds, lakes and slow moving water. The nest is mainly made of dry reeds. The moorhen is found all over the whole of Europe.

This place is called the Malthouse. It has been unoccupied for over five years. Look at the size of plants growing in front of the entrance door in the photo below. Around the corner from the picture below is a twisted mass of girders overgrowing with vegetation.
