In the above photos I tried to copy exactly drawings made by the Alnwick artist Barbara Woodhouse and published by her in her book “Zig-Zag Alnwick”. I had a copy of the book in front of me and I positioned the camera so that the picture on the photo looked exactly the same as the drawing in the book. There are actually two volumes of this book “Zig-Zag Alnwick” by Barbara Woodhouse. The books “Zig-Zag Alnwick” were printed by Aln Printers in their factory in Greensfield, Alnwick.

Hello. Thank you so much for sharing the old pictures of Alnwick - lovely. My husband's family came from Alnwick in the early 1800s, and when I research any tree I love to find old pictures of where the family were living.
Again thanks, Jean.

Wonderful blog! I found it while searching on Yahoo News. Do you have any tips on how to get listed in Yahoo News? I’ve been trying for a while but I never seem to get there! Many thanks.
