Lagny Street, Alnwick, across from Morrison's car park.

This place is called the Malthouse. It has been unoccupied for over five years. Look at the size of plants growing in front of the entrance door in the photo below. Around the corner from the picture below is a twisted mass of girders overgrowing with vegetation.

The same group of buildings viewed from the car park. All the buildings are unoccupied and have been empty for years. Look at the condition of the roof closely.

The same building in the photograph above. Bushes are growing on the roof.

Maltings, Lagny Street, Alnwick

The Maltings Development in Alnwick near Morrison's Car Park is overgrowing with huge weeds.

Image below; What it's supposed to look like.

"This is a dreadful shame. I'm not a builder but it doesn't look as though it would take an awful lot to finish.” Mayor of Alnwick. (Click here to read more)

Hello. Thank you so much for sharing the old pictures of Alnwick - lovely. My husband's family came from Alnwick in the early 1800s, and when I research any tree I love to find old pictures of where the family were living.
Again thanks, Jean.

Wonderful blog! I found it while searching on Yahoo News. Do you have any tips on how to get listed in Yahoo News? I’ve been trying for a while but I never seem to get there! Many thanks.
