The gorilla of Alnwick

The statue of a gorilla dominates the skyline in the New Row / Dispensary Street area of Alnwick near Morrisons supermarket.
He is King of his domain.
The chief gorilla is said to be called the “grey-back” and is said to be looked up to by the other gorillas and apes as the big chief ape.

Hello. Thank you so much for sharing the old pictures of Alnwick - lovely. My husband's family came from Alnwick in the early 1800s, and when I research any tree I love to find old pictures of where the family were living.
Again thanks, Jean.

Wonderful blog! I found it while searching on Yahoo News. Do you have any tips on how to get listed in Yahoo News? I’ve been trying for a while but I never seem to get there! Many thanks.
